Spring has sprung

We have noticed an upswing in survey enquires recently and perhaps this is the long-awaited resurgence of the housing market.    The sun's appearance after weeks of greyness has lifted spirits and thoughts of moving house.    Now we just need to warm up a little!

We are finalising the Building Regulations application for the next large phases of extension work to the Ivelhurst Nursing Home and have also submitted numerous applications for domestic extensions and alterations to modern and listed buildings, including loft conversions and two-storey extensions, and for individual new-build houses and conversion of barns to provide residential or holiday accommodation.      Our company has been in practice for over 25 years and we have noticed that during slumps in the buying and selling of houses architectural work increases and this has been the case over the last couple of years.   This is good news for local building contractors and suppliers and we will always try to use 'locals' for projects as much as possible.

There have been recent major changes to Planning policy at both local and national levels, and the Government has proposed controversial measures to revive the housing market.   What this will mean for the construction industry, developers, local Planning matters and indeed those fighting against developments in their area, remains to be seen.
